1 person dead, 1 injured in house fire near Great Bend

Fire officials are working to determine the cause of a fatal fire in Rice County.
The Hays Post reports fire crews were called to a home about 25 mile west of Great Bend late on Friday.
Rice County Sheriff Bryant Evans says 66-year-old Beverly Boatright died at the scene. His 59-year-old wife was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Evans says the family dog also died in the fire. The home is a total loss.
