580 Sports Talk’s Football Picks, Presented by Prairie Band Sportsbook – Weekend of Nov. 2-3, 2024

The football season is upon us, and we’re bringing back the Prairie Band Sportsbook 580 Sports Talk football picks contest! Each week, Dan, Brendan, and Spencer will pick two NFL games and two college football games against the spread, and also make a fifth ‘wild card’ pick that could be a spread, total, or player prop from the college or professional slate of games. They’ll also designate one pick each week as their ‘Lock of the Week’. We’ll track their records throughout the season and crown a champion.

Last week was a tough week for the group at large, with nobody posting a winning week. Dan and Spencer both went 2-3, just missing the right side of the ledger. Brendan endured an 0-5 week and has been surpassed by Spencer for second place.

The 580 Sports Talk Football Picks Contest is sponsored by Prairie Band Sportsbook – Bet Your Way!

Dan Lucero

CFB: Vanderbilt +7.5 at Auburn

*LOCK OF THE WEEK*
“A team quarterbacked by Diego Pavia is getting points against a team coached by Hugh Freeze. If you know anything about the on-field history between those two, you’d be just like me, sprinting to take seven and a hook for Pavia and the ‘Dores.” — DL

CFB: Duke +20 at Miami (FL)

NFL: Dolphins at Bills -6

NFL: Colts +5 at Vikings

WC: Army OVER 31.5 points

Last week: 2-3, Lock of the Week (Avery Johnson over 41.5 rush yards) hits
Season record: 22-20-1 (CFB: 8-10; NFL: 7-8-1; WC: 7-2; Lock of the Week: 6-2-1)

Brendan Dzwierzynski

CFB: Air Force at Army -22

CFB: Michigan State at Indiana -7.5

NFL: Broncos +8 at Ravens

*LOCK OF THE WEEK*
“I don’t understand this line, so maybe I’m being suckered in, but I actually think Denver is a decent matchup for Baltimore. In the last month, the Broncos’ run game has the second-best success rate in the NFL, Bo Nix has been average (a major improvement) and their defense has been elite. Meanwhile, the Ravens are letting opponents convert 53% of third downs in the same timeframe. I’ll take Denver to keep it close.” — BD

NFL: Lions -2.5 at Packers

WC: Chuba Hubbard (CAR) OVER 56.5 rushing yards

Last week: 0-5, Lock of the Week (Packers -4) does not hit
Season record: 18-24-1 (CFB: 9-8-1; NFL: 5-11; WC: 4-5; Lock of the Week 4-5)

Spencer Dupuis

CFB: Kansas State -12.5 at Houston

CFB: Louisiana-Monroe at Marshall -10.5

NFL: Raiders at Bengals -7.5

NFL: Commanders -4 at Giants

*LOCK OF THE WEEK*
“Typically, after the Commanders score a majority of their points on field goals, the offense breaks out the next week, so I expect no different this week when they play the broken Giants. ” — SD

WC: Jayden Daniels (WAS) OVER 278.5 passing + rushing yards

Last week: 2-3, Lock of the Week (Chiefs -9.5) does not hit
Season record: 20-23 (CFB: 8-10; NFL: 8-8; WC: 4-5; Lock of the Week 3-6)
