580 Sports Talk’s Football Picks, Presented by Prairie Band Sportsbook – Weekend of Oct. 26-27, 2024
The football season is upon us, and we’re bringing back the Prairie Band Sportsbook 580 Sports Talk football picks contest! Each week, Dan, Brendan, and Spencer will pick two NFL games and two college football games against the spread, and also make a fifth ‘wild card’ pick that could be a spread, total, or player prop from the college or professional slate of games. They’ll also designate one pick each week as their ‘Lock of the Week’. We’ll track their records throughout the season and crown a champion.
Last week, Spencer and Dan both logged winning weeks at 3-2 while Brendan slipped further beneath the .500 mark with a 2-3 finish. Dan continues in first place with Brendan just ahead of Spencer for second place.
The 580 Sports Talk Football Picks Contest is sponsored by Prairie Band Sportsbook – Bet Your Way!

Dan Lucero
CFB: Texas at Vanderbilt +18
CFB: Cincinnati +7 at Colorado
NFL: Panthers +11 at Broncos
NFL: Bills at Seahawks +3
WC: Avery Johnson OVER 41.5 rushing yards
*LOCK OF THE WEEK*
“This is the week to turn Avery loose. After not rushing the ball a single time last week, the K-State star should be rested and ready to cut footloose against a Kansas defense that has struggled mightily against running QBs all year.” — DL
Last week: 3-2, Lock of the Week (New Mexico over 39.5) hits
Season record: 20-17-1 (CFB: 7-9; NFL: 7-6-1; WC: 6-2; Lock of the Week: 5-2-1)
Brendan Dzwierzynski
CFB: Notre Dame at Navy +13.5
CFB: Nevada +1.5 at Hawai’i
NFL: Packers -4 at Jaguars
*LOCK OF THE WEEK*
“I hate making homer picks my lock of the week, but I think there’s too much buy-in on the Jaguars after the last couple of games and I love this spot for the Packers. Jacksonville’s defense is terrible and its quarterback is prone to turnovers. Green Bay’s offense is one of the league’s best and its defense leads the NFL in takeaways.” — BD
NFL: Cardinals at Dolphins -4
WC: Rutgers at USC UNDER 56 points
Last week: 2-3, Lock of the Week (Army -16) hits
Season record: 18-19-1 (CFB: 9-6-1; NFL: 5-9; WC: 4-4; Lock of the Week 4-4)
Spencer Dupuis
CFB: BYU +1.5 at UCF
CFB: West Virginia at Arizona -4
NFL: Falcons -3 at Buccaneers
NFL: Chiefs -9.5 at Raiders
*LOCK OF THE WEEK*
“Patrick Mahomes is due to be back to his old self, and he could do it against a very depleted Raiders team this week.” — SD
WC: Jets at Patriots UNDER 41 points
Last week: 3-2, Lock of the Week (CAR-WAS o51) does not hit
Season record: 18-20 (CFB: 7-9; NFL: 7-7; WC: 4-4; Lock of the Week 3-5)
