Alpha Media Topeka Surpasses Last Year’s St. Jude Radiothon Goal

Alpha Media Topeka radio stations, Country 106.9 and Big Country 94.5, hosted their annual 2-day Radiothon for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®.  At the end of the second day, the staff and the public received the great news that, together with the listeners from northeast Kansas, they had raised $84,597, over $3,100 dollars more than the previous year.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® is internationally recognized for its pioneering research and treatment of children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases. The hospital’s research has helped push overall survival rates for childhood cancer from less than 20 percent when the institution opened to almost 80 percent today.

Country Cares for St. Jude Kids is one of the most successful radio fundraising events in America. Since the program began in 1989, more than 200 radio stations across the country have raised more than $400 million in pledges for the children of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®.
