The Ichabod volleyball team has started off strong or as you could say, doing what the Ichabod volleyball normally does, which is dominate.

They have started the season 8-0 and have swept the opponent 3-0 in seven of the eight matches.

The Ichabods finished the 2018 season in the semifinals, and are picking up right where they left off as they started the season ranked fourth in the AVCA preseason rankings and already have mvoed up a spot to number three.

Washburn is home on Friday and Saturday at Lee Arena to start MIAA play when they face Fort Hays State Friday and then a big match-up with sixth ranked Nebraska Kearney on Saturday. Both matches will be played at 6:00 p.m.

Leading the way for the Ichabods is Allison Maxwell who has started off as hot as you can possibly get.

For the second consecutive week,  Allison Maxwell earned conference honors as was named the MIAA Hitter of the Week after helping Washburn Volleyball to four 3-0 victories at the Skyhawks Tournament.

Maxwell has now won the MIAA Hitter of the Week award four times in her career.

Maxwell spoke about having a target on their back, their off-season workouts, practices being sometimes harder then games, being a middle hitter and much more.
