AUDIO: The Washburn Baseball and Softball Coaches Show

Mother Nature is finally starting to allow some consistent play on the diamond.

The Washburn softball team is now 8-2 in MIAA play after taking three of four over the weekend. They travel to Warrensburg and Boliver to take on UCM and SBU this weekend.

Brenda Holaday is excited about the start to the MIAA schedule. She recaps the 3-1 weekend against Missouri Southern and Pittsburg State and gives a peak at what is clicking on offense and the pitching staff.

The baseball team had a tough outing against Northwest Missouri State last weekend. The Bearcats swept the Ichabods as Washburn couldn’t put the pitching, fielding and hitting together. The Ichabods scored plenty of runs but couldn’t quite find the rhythm on the pitching and defensive end.

Hear from Harley Douglas about the bats starting to get hot and a few guys are really swinging it well, what the defense has to do to get better as they take on Southwest Baptist at Falley Field this weekend.
