April 15th is the day many coaches, administrators and boosters have been waiting for.

Construction begins on a brand new state of the art indoor practice facility for Washburn University.

The location of the facility will be east of Falley Field and west of the softball diamonds. It will stretch from Durrow road to 21st street.

They are estimating it will take one year to build the facility and Washburn will be scheduled to get the keys on August 1st 2020.

The facility will have a 200 meter banked track on one side of the building and a full 120 yard football field right next to it.
