AUDIO: WU Baseball and Softball Coaches Show

The weather might not be suitable to play on the diamond in Topeka but both the baseball and softball teams started up their season this past weekend in Arkansas and Texas.

The Ichabod softball team looks to continue their winning ways as they won the MIAA conference last year.

They started out the season 2-4 in their first tournament against some tough teams in Conroe Texas.

Head Coach Brenda Holaday spoke about the first tournament and the positives and negatives of their start plus how the weather changes things. We also preview the upcoming tournament down in Oklahoma City this weekend. 

 

Head Coach Harley Douglas and the baseball team went to Arkansas to start their season against Southern Arkansas. Washburn fell in the series two games to one.

They won the first game 8-4 but fell the next two games 5-2 and 5-3.

Douglas spoke about the first win of the year, how the team played well, pitched well as they allowed just 14 runs in three games. He has a lot of good things to say about the first series. We also break down their next opponent in Southeastern State whom they play this weekend.
