Manhattan firefighters saved some boaters Monday evening on the Kansas River.
According to a release from the department, just after 6:45 p.m. crews were called to the river near Fairmont Park for a report of two people in the river who had lost their boats.
Those people were hanging on to trees about two miles south of the boat ramp and the rescue boat was sent to fish them out. No one was hurt and the scene was cleared in an hour.
