An Evacuation Advisory is in effect for areas of the Northview neighborhood in Manhattan including the Dix Edition, Berry Streets, and Countryside Estates Mobile Home Park. Residents may need to evacuate in the near future because high water is expected to impact homes, businesses, and nearby roads in the next 24 to 72 hours.
The American Red Cross has opened a shelter location at Westview Church located at 615 Gillespie Drive.
Emergency personnel with official identification have gone door-to-door in the affected neighborhoods to notify residents of the danger.
Based on the information we have currently, an evacuation order may be issued anytime between now and Saturday.
The US Army Corps of Engineers has notified emergency personnel that water is being released from the tubes at a rate of 25,000 cfs.
Make sure you are taking the appropriate precautions and preparing to evacuate at a moment’s notice.
