A Topeka teenager is dead after a Thursday afternoon shooting on the city’s southeast side.

Police were called to SE Fremont and SE Irvingham after someone heard gunshots at 3:40 p.m. While officers were on their way to that call, other citizens reported a possible shooting at SE 37th and Adams.

Officers actually found a car at SE 37th and Pennsylvania with one male victim inside suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was taken from the scene to a Topeka hospital, where he died.

Witnesses say the suspects were in a 4-door passenger car. The victim has been identified as a 16-year-old boy from Topeka, but his name has not been released. If you know more about what happened, call Crime Stoppers at 234-0007.
