On Tuesday, July 2, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. the Greater Topeka Partnership and the Topeka Community will celebrate Gary Woodland’s U.S. Open win with a block party on the 700 block of Kansas Avenue in Downtown Topeka.

The block party will feature live music, food, activities and speakers celebrating the native Topekan’s accomplishments on the golf course.

“It’s hard to describe how big of an accomplishment Gary’s win is; he is the U.S. Open Champion. As someone that calls Topeka home, hearing him introduced Sunday ‘from Topeka, Kansas’ was so cool for our city.” says Cody Foster, Chair of the Greater Topeka Partnership and co-founder of Advisors Excel. “Gary has never forgotten where he came from. I watched him in the days after all the talk shows, how he honored our military and then created such a special experience for Amy Bockerstette, I couldn’t have been prouder to see someone from Topeka have so much success.”

This event is free and open to the public.
