Item connected to fire hydrant at Gage Park found to be harmless Wednesday

A report of a suspicious device connected to a fire hydrant at the Gage Park entrance closed a Topeka street Wednesday night.
Police were called to the hydrant at SW 6th and Rock Garden at 6:30 p.m. The Topeka Police Bomb Squad looked it over and found that the item was a normal item belonging to the water department and the road was reopened after a short delay.
