The personal finance website WalletHub did a survey released this week on the Most and Least Educated States in America.

“Kansas is a pretty educated place to be,” said WalletHub analyst Jill Gonzalez. “It ranked in the top 20, right at number 19. It did particularly well in the educational attainment category. We do see that there are a large share of adults age 25 and up with at least a bachelor’s degree, graduate or professional degree.”

Kansas was 38th in its educational quality ranking.

“In the quality of the public K-12 school system, Kansas is middle of the pack,” said Gonzalez. “Quality of universities could be improved a little bit, as could the public high school graduation rate.”

The most educated states were Massachusetts, Maryland and Vermont.
