KANSAS “Point of Know Return Anniversary Tour” Tickets Go on Sale Friday

The legendary rock band, KANSAS, will be bringing their “Point of Know Return Anniversary Tour” to the Topeka Performing Arts Center on October 4, 2019. Tickets will go on sale to the general public starting at 8 am tomorrow.

The “Point of Know Return Anniversary Tour” has already packed venues all over the United States – including The Chicago Theatre in Chicago, Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, The Murat in Indianapolis, Cobb Energy Centre in Atlanta, Fox Theatre in St. Louis, Majestic Theater in Dallas, Heinz Hall in Pittsburgh, and more.  But, the group is especially excited to bring the tour to their hometown of Topeka.

“We have such great fans out there,” said KANSAS bassist/singer Billy Greer. “Kerry Livgren, who is retired from the band still lives in Topeka. Richard (Williams) goes back on lots of occasions to visit and hang out and I have been there so much over the years that I feel like it’s a second home to me.”

The “Point of Know Return Anniversary Tour” continues the celebration of the sextuple-platinum album’s 40th anniversary. This more than two-hour KANSAS musical event will not only culminate in the iconic album, “Point of Know Return”, performed in its entirety, but will also include classic hits, deep cuts, fan favorites, and some songs that the band has not performed live in years (maybe decades).

“It’s going to be laid out and designed kind of like the “Leftoverture 40th Anniversary Tour” in that we’re starting out with an acoustic set of KANSAS material”, Greer. “Then we go right from that with no intermission to a set of material from about ten different KANSAS records,  fan favorites and some of our favorite songs, and some old songs that we haven’t played in a lot of years. Then, from there, we go right into the “Point of Know Return” album in its running order and in its entirety.”

Greer, who has been a member of the band since 1985, said that even with the band’s constant touring that the excitement from the fans energizes him every night.

“I just enjoy the music,” said Greer. “Each crowd is different. Each crowd has its own dynamic and they’re usually really getting into the music and we feed off of the energy from the crowd and that’s what makes it exciting to me that by the end of the night I’m just pumped up full of adrenaline and had a great time.”
