Kevin Haskin Recalls Shawnee County Hall of Fame Inductee Pete Goering

The 2019 Shawnee County Sports Banquet is Wednesday and all three inductees into the Shawnee County Sports Hall of Fame will give their speeches to the crowd at the Ramada.

Every year 580 Sports Talk has the inductee or someone to discuss the inductees on the show.

Monday was Shawnee Heights product Trisa Nickoley who discussed her amazing running career. 

Tuesday one of the inductees in this years class is the late Pete Goering. Pete was a staple at the Topeka Capital Journal since 1973 when he was hired. He was a sports beat reporter, columnist, assistant editor and editor.

Former coworker and close friend Kevin Haskin shares stories about Pete as a friend, journalist and how much he meant to the community.
