Kwik Shop clerk victim of Wednesday stabbing, suspect behind bars

A Topeka man is behind bars after a Kwik Shop clerk was stabbed at work early Wednesday morning.

Thirty-three-year-old Anthony Ryan Downing has been booked into the Shawnee County Jail on Attempted 1st Degree murder. A citizen called dispatch at 4:14 a.m. Wednesday after the clerk was found down and bleeding inside the Kwik Shop at 17th and SW Topeka Blvd.
