Names given in Tuesday shooting incident in Topeka

Topeka police have identified the victim and arrested another man in an aggravated battery case that took place Tuesday.

Police were called to a possible disturbance in the 1300 block of NE Forest Avenue just before 12:15 p.m. Tuesday.

While officers were on their way, they found out that 29-year-old Daniel Dirk had been shot. Dirk was taken to a local hospital by ambulance.

A short time later, police made a traffic stop and took 19-year-old Colby Dean Brown in for questioning.

Brown was eventually arrested and booked for aggravated assault, aggravated battery and criminal damage to property.
