Non-injury accident shuts down a portion of I-70 in Topeka early Tuesday

An early morning accident Tuesday shut down a portion of I-70 for multiple hours.
Topeka police found the accident on I-70 at 10th Street just after 2:30 a.m. Heavy equipment was lost from a commercial vehicle westbound I-70 was closed from the SE Adams exit to SE 8th Street.
Eastbound lanes of I-70 were opened at around 6 a.m. Westbound has opened two lanes of traffic as of 6:40 a.m. The westbound exit at 8th Street still remains closed as KDOT continues to work on the scene.
