Osage County accident kills child, injures three others

An eight-year-old in Overbrook was killed in an accident Monday morning when a westbound maroon Dodge Ram pickup lost control just before 8 a.m., crossed the center line of Highway 56 on the west edge of town and struck a black Ford Edge head-on. A third car, a red Oldsmobile Alero, then rear-ended the Ford.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reports that the pickup was driven by 43-year-old Kristin Noel Edwards of Overbrook. She was taken to Stormont Vail Hospital. Her passenger, 14-year-old Luke A. Edwards was also taken to the hospital. The Ford Edge was driven by 52-year-old Terry Ralston of Scranton. He was taken to Stormont Vail. His passenger, eight-year-old Cassie N. Ralston was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Seventeen-year-old Kaelyn A Watkins was driving the Alero. She was not hurt.
