An arrest has been made in a rape case on the west side of the Kansas State University campus in Manhattan.

Police arrested 23-year-old Jason Seifert of Fort Riley early Sunday morning on charges of rape, aggravated battery, and aggravated kidnapping.

The initial call happened just before 3 a.m. Sunday when K-State Police received a report of an active situation on the west side of campus along the Denison corridor.

Officers made contact with and transported the victim to the local hospital.

While officers were still in the area, Seifert returned to the scene and was arrested by K-State Police officers. Neither Seifert or the victim have any relation to the university.

Seifert is currently detained at Riley County Jail with bond set at $100,000. The investigation is ongoing.
