Second Half Surge Leads #12 K-State Women Past Tech

The #12 Kansas State Wildcats went on a 24-4 run to open the third quarter to turn a close game into a laugher, defeating Texas Tech 77-57 at Bramlage Coliseum on Saturday afternoon.

K-State led by just six, 38-32, at the intermission before breaking the game wide open in the first eight minutes of the third quarter. They ultimately outscored the Red Raiders 28-9 in that frame and were able to ease to victory from there.

Ayoka Lee paced four Wildcats in double figures with 19 points, to go with eight rebounds. She moved into seventh place on the all-time Big 12 scoring list and sixth on the Big 12 rebound list in the game. Serena Sundell recorded a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards. Kennedy Taylor and Taryn Sides were also in double figures, scoring 13 and 11 points, respectively.

The win is the tenth in a row for K-State, who improves to 15-1 on the season and 3-0 in the Big 12. They’re at Utah Wednesday night.
