Shawnee County Hall of Fame Inductee Ron Bowen Reflects on Coaching Career

The 2019 Shawnee County Sports Banquet is Wednesday and all three inductees into the Shawnee County Sports Hall of Fame will give their speeches to the crowd at the Ramada.

Every year 580 Sports Talk has the inductee or someone to discuss the inductees on the show.

Monday  saw Shawnee Heights product Trisa Nickoley who discussed her amazing running career. 

Tuesday Former coworker and close friend Kevin Haskin shares stories about Pete as a friend, journalist and how much he meant to the community.

Wednesday was former Washburn Rural football coach Ron Bowen. He coached the Junior Blue for 23 seasons and had a 156-73 record as the head coach. He won three state tiels in 85, 86 and 89 and took second in 1992.

Bowen came on 580 Sports Talk to recap his state title seasons, some fun stories during his coaching career, how the game has changed and much more.
