The Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office will be implementing changes to fingerprinting services offered to the public.

Due to changes in state licensing mandates, the Sheriff’s Office has seen a significant increase in citizens requiring fingerprint services for non-criminal purposes. In order to accommodate this increase the Sheriff’s Office will be offering extended hours for citizens requiring fingerprints.

Effective March 18, 2019, a $10 processing fee will be assessed to all fingerprint requests with the exception of Conceal Carry Handgun License Applications. The $10 fee may be paid by cash, cashier’s check or money order made out to the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office. No personal checks will be accepted.

A person who applies for a Kansas CCHL is required to submit a money order, personal check or cashier’s check in the amount of $32.50 payable to the sheriff’s office in the county where the applicant resides.

Fingerprint services will be provided by appointment only. Limited appointment times will be available after normal business hours and on some Saturdays.

For more information on the changes, or to schedule an appointment, please contact the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office at 785-251-2200. The Topeka Police Department, Kansas Bureau of Investigation and Rossville Police Department also offer fingerprinting services to the public.
