Smaller schools do well on Kansas college survey from WalletHub, larger schools not measured due to not providing data

The personal-finance website WalletHub today released its 2020’s Best College & University Rankings. Smaller schools did well in Kansas on this measure.

“The best university in Kansas was Newman University,” said analyst Jill Gonzalez. “They were followed by Friends University, MidAmerica Nazarene, the University of St. Mary, Baker University and Central Christian College of Kansas.”

Tabor College, Southwestern College, Sterling College and Kansas Wesleyan University rounded out the top 10. At least eleven Kansas schools were eliminated due to not providing complete data. None of Kansas Regents Institutions were included.

“We look, not only at things like admission rates, kind of how selective the schools are, tuition and fees, but also what this means for you after college,” said Gonzalez. “We’re talking about the return on investment there. Things like employment rates, how much recent graduates are making.”

WalletHub compared over 1,000 higher-education institutions in the U.S. based on 33 key measures grouped into seven categories, such as Student Selectivity, Cost & Financing and Career Outcomes.
