Sunday Evening Accident Kills One in Harper County

A Harper, Kansas man is dead after a Sunday evening accident on Highway 160.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, just before 6:30 p.m. a 2003 Chevy Monte Carlo driven by 65-year-old Paul Raberding of Harper was westbound on Highway 160 when the Monte Carlo crossed the center line and struck a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica driven by 52-year-old David P. Johnson of Harper head-on on the driver’s side. The Monte Carlo continued West and came to rest on the North shoulder. The Pacifica continued East and came to rest in the South ditch.

Raberding was pronounced dead at Wellington Hospital. Johnson and his passenger, 70-year-old Aumnouypon Starkey were transported to other hospitals for treatment.
