The Washburn Baseball and Softball Coaches Show

Mother Nature continues to make her presence felt for the baseball and softball teams.

The baseball team headed down to Joplin to take part in a MIAA vs GLVC tournament in which the team went 2-1 in the three games.

The Ichabods beat Rockhurst 21-0, lost to Missouri Southern 9-0 and then beat University of Missouri St. Louis 7-6.

Washburn is now 5-4 on the year and start up MIAA play on Thursday against Lindenwood in St. Charles.

Harley Douglas spoke about the weekend and previews the series against  the Lions.

 

The Ichabod softball team had a wild trip down to Conway Arkansas. A five our bus delay and a total of 15 hours didn’t slow down the Ichabods as  they went 5-1 on the weekend.

Washburn got wins over Parskide 7-1, Minnesota State Mankato 6-3, Nebraska Kearney 13-2, Fort Hays State 8-0 and Upper Iowa 9-2. The lone loss was the last game of the tournament in which they fell 6-5 to Upper Iowa.

Brenda Holaday spoke about the trip, the fantastic pitching performances, some great at-bats at the plate plus the upcoming schedule for the Ichabods.
