Topeka man sentenced for selling stolen guns to undercover agent

A Topeka man was sentenced Monday to 40 months in federal prison for selling stolen guns to an undercover agent, U.S. Attorney Stephen McAllister said.

32-year-old Timothy Michael Hisey pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful possession of firearms following a felony conviction.  In his plea, he admitted he sold firearms to an agent working undercover for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.  The firearms included five shotguns and three rifles.

Hisey was prohibited from possessing firearms because of a 2016 felony drug conviction in Shawnee County District Court.
