Topeka Police arrest two on gun charges Tuesday

The number of felons with guns arrested by Topeka police is now at thirty-five.
At approximately 9:40 p.m. Tuesday, officers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of SW 6th and SW Oakley.
Officers detected a strong odor of narcotics coming from within the vehicle. Further investigation revealed narcotics and two firearms.
Officers transported 26-year-old Stacey Banks and 23-year-old Andre Stewart to the Shawnee County Department of
Corrections for Criminal Possession of a Firearm by a convicted felon.
