Jason Snider of Chapman and Michael Whitaker of Topeka were located in Shawnee County and are now jailed in Geary County on charges related to the Monday incident. The initial release is below.

An early Monday morning attack injured a man and deputies in Geary County are still looking for the two people thought responsible.

Geary County deputies responded at 3:15 a.m. Monday to mile marker 146 on US-77 in reference to a subject in the roadway.

A man was there asking for help. He told deputies he was on State Lake Road when he was ordered out of the car he was in at gunpoint. The other man who was in the car with him had a knife. The men had held him against his will and injured him. He ran to the highway and got help.

Junction City EMS treated the man at the scene. They are looking for Jason Snider of Chapman and Michael Whitaker of Topeka. If you see them, do not approach as they are assumed to be armed and dangerous. Call local law enforcement.
