Two Unrelated Shootings in Topeka Over Weekend Being Investigated

Topeka Police are investigating two separate shootings that took place over the weekend.

The latest was Sunday night around 11:30 p.m. Officers were sent to the 2200 block of SW Boswell Court where they found that an SUV had struck a house and a man inside the vehicle had multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The other shooting was Saturday night near Washburn University. Around 7 p.m. that night, officers responded to a shooting near the 1600 block of SW College. In that case, a woman was shot. She was taken to a local hospital and a suspect in the case, 29-year-old Cory Brown was caught in the 1200 block of SW Fillmore and booked under suspicion of aggravated robbery.
