Wednesday night’s Powerball fourth-largest jackpot in history

There’s a lot of money on the line for Wednesday night’s Powerball.

“This Powerball jackpot for Wednesday’s drawing is the fourth-largest in U.S. lottery jackpot history,” said Kansas Lottery spokeswoman Courtney Ryan. “It’s the third-largest Powerball jackpot. Right now, it’s estimated at $750 million, with an estimated cash option of $465.5 million.”

If you want the $750 million, you’ll have to wait longer for your money.

“Powerball jackpot winners may choose to receive their prize as an annuity, which would be paid in 30 graduate payments over 29 years, or the lump-sum cash option,” said Ryan.

You still have some time to buy your tickets.

“The drawings take place every Wednesday and Saturday at about 10:59 p.m., Eastern time, so, our time zone, that’s about 10:00 every Wednesday and Saturday night,” said Ryan. “All players have to do is pay $2 for a ticket. They have to just choose five numbers between 1 and 69 and one Powerball number from 1 to 26.”

There is still a chance that if ticket sales are strong, the jackpot could go up between now and Wednesday night.
