Kansas State Representatives Don Hineman (R-118th) from Dighton and Larry Hibbard (R-13th) from Toronto joined us on Wednesday’s Ag Issues program. The discussion focused on the start of the 2019 Kansas Legislative session and what they anticipate will be talked about by Governor Laura Kelly during her State of the State Address tonight. Hineman and Hibbard looked at some of the top issues that will be discussed including school finance, comprehensive transportation plan and medicaid expansion. Hineman and Hibbard are both a part of the new Rural Revitalization Committee with Hineman chairing the committee. Both discussed what they would like to discussed and what the committee’s objective will be during the upcoming session.
