Mike Beam, formerly on the staff of the Kansas Livestock Association, commented on his new position as interim Kansas Secretary of Agriculture.  KDA is primarily a regulatory agency, but plays a key role in the long-term Kansas water plan, as well as the Flint Hills Smoke Management plan, which Beam helped put together.
