WIBW Radio/KAN Podcast: USTR Chief Agricultural Negotiator Gregg Doud

Ambassador Gregg Doud, Chief Agricultural Negotiator in the Office of the United States Trade Representative, was our guest on Thursday’s Ag Issues program. Ambassador Doud gave an update on the starting of trade talks with Japan and the frustration with the European Union, of the EU not including agriculture as part of the restarting of trade talks with the EU. Ambassador Doud also gave updates in the ongoing trade talks with China and the importance of Thursday’s World Trade Organization dispute settlement panel concerning China and their administration of grain Tariff-Rate quotas. He also gave an update on the timeline that he expects Congress will officially start to discuss with an eventual vote on the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement, which will replace the current NAFTA agreement.
