Inclement weather played havoc with the outdoor sports on Thursday’s schedule.

GIRLS GOLF

Topeka High competed at the Wamego Invitational.

GIRLS TENNIS

On Wednesday, Seaman, took first place in a home invitational and nearly swept the first place honors. Elise Schreiner was tops in #1 singles, while Emma Biggs and Grace Unruh won the #1 doubles and Emma Dowd and Sarah Latendresse teamed up to take first in #2 doubles.

Thursday, The Sabetha quad involving Hayden was cancelled due to weather.

BOYS SOCCER

Washburn Rural got back on the winning track with a commanding victory at home over Wichita Northwest.

Highland Park’s game at Hayden was cancelled due to weather. Shawnee Heights at Seaman, Topeka High’s game at the Blue Valley West tournament, and Topeka West’s game at Emporia were moved back one day to Friday.

VOLLEYBALL

Hayden traveled to Piper for three matches. They beat the host Pirates (25-5, 25-13), fell to Spring Hill (25-15, 13-25, 18-25), and also lost to Blue Valley (13-25, 14-25). Those defeats were the first on the season for the Lady Wildcats, who are 6-2.

Topeka West hosted a quadrangular and went 0-2, losing to Maranatha (25-13, 20-25, 21-25) and Cair Paravel (20-25, 24-26). Highland Park also lost to both Maranatha (16-25, 6-25) and Cair Paravel (17-25, 25-21, 6-25).

Seaman and Shawnee Heights were at a Silver Lake quad that also featured Manhattan. The Lady Vikes went 3-0 on the night, while Shawnee Heights beat Manhattan and Silver Lake to go 2-1.

Washburn Rural traveled to the St. Thomas Aquinas triangular. They lost to the hosts in two sets (19-25, 21-25) and also faced Lansing.
