The Kansas high school state basketball tournaments wrapped up on Saturday, with a flurry of great games across the state and a Topeka team bringing a title back to the capital city.

The Washburn Rural girls defeated Topeka High in a battle of city teams down in Wichita for the 6A crown, the fourth ever for the Lady Blues.

On the boys side, Washburn Rural was not able to overcome a modern-day dynasty, falling in the title game to now-three-time reigning champion Blue Valley Northwest.
