The potential for severe winter weather has postponed preparation for spring storms in one Kansas county.
National Weather Service Warning Coordination Meteorologist Chad Omitt said Monday that the Weather Service’s Severe Weather Safety and Spotter Talk scheduled for Tuesday night at Oskaloosa High School has been cancelled. It will be rescheduled at a later date.
Accumulating snow is likely Tuesday into Wednesday morning, with a light glaze of ice possible along and south of the Kansas Turnpike.
Three to six inches of snowfall are expected with a light glaze of ice as well.
Light to moderate snow is likely during the Tuesday afternoon/evening commute and could impact travel across the area.
