KBI Leading Death Investigation Of Law Enforcement Officer In Brown County

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) is investigating the death of a law enforcement officer who was discovered in northern Brown County early Wednesday morning.

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office requested KBI assistance at approximately 6:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 13, to investigate the circumstances of the death. KBI agents and the Crime Scene Response Team (CSRT) responded.

Kirby Robidoux, 43, a patrol officer of the Sac and Fox Police Department, was found deceased just before 6 a.m., near the intersection of 330th St. and Longspur Rd. in northern Brown County.

Robidoux was on duty when law enforcement officers in the area began searching for him after he did not respond to dispatchers conducting a routine radio check. The officer was located by a member of the Iowa Tribal Police Department.

At this time, foul play is not suspected, but a full investigation is being conducted.

The investigation is ongoing.
