Russell man arrested Thursday on child pornography charges

Special agents of the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) arrested a Russell man Thursday for his alleged involvement with child pornography.

Fifty-four-year-old Kenneth D. Herd of Russell was arrested for transportation of child pornography and possession of child pornography. The crimes are said to have occurred in Lyons.

Herd was indicted on January 30th for those offenses. After his arrest, Herd was transported to Wichita where he was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail.

The United States Attorney’s Office will prosecute the case.
