The number of Felon in Possession of a Firearm cases in 2019 has now reached 25 in Topeka.

The latest case was called in just before midnight on Tuesday night in the parking lot of the Kwik Shop at SW 21st and Randolph.

Officers found 26-year-old Sylvan Alexa Barnes, who attempted to drive away. Barnes was intoxicated and arrested for DUI. They found a gun and drugs in the vehicle.

Barnes was booked on Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Marijuana and DUI charges.
