Topeka Police see 28th Felon in Possession Wednesday

Topeka Police have arrested another person on drug and weapons charges.
Wednesday night around 9:30 p.m., a traffic stop was conducted near 10th and SE Branner, as the tag on the vehicle did not match and the driver’s license was revoked.
Thirty-year-old Valerie Riis was a passenger in the vehicle. Riis had a handgun and methamphetamines. She was arrested for Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and an outstanding warrant.
Riis is the 28th person arrested on felon in possession charges in 2019 by Topeka Police.
