On Thursday night Kansas City Chiefs general Brett Veach announced that Tyreek Hill has been disallowed from team activities after audio was revealed on Thursday night of an alleged discussion between Hill and his fiancée, Crystal Espinal, pertaining to their three-year-old son.

Veach said after the conclusion of the first round of the NFL draft on Thursday night, he spoke with Drew Rosenhaus, Hill’s agent, and came to the decision to keep Hill away from the team for the foreseeable future as the team continues to collect information.

He added that the team is “deeply disturbed” by the recording.

“We have great concern for Crystal, we are greatly concerned for Tyreek but our main focus and our main concern is for the young child,” Veach said in his statement.

KCTV5 in Kansas City initially released the audio on Thursday, allegedly recorded while the couple was in the Dubai International Airport. The audio allegedly features the couple discussing violence against their child, including Hill physically disciplining their son and using threatening language toward Espinal. She also claims she covered for him when speaking to investigators.

Johnson County district attorney Stephen Howe said on Wednesday at a press conference that at that time no charges were being filed because while it was believed that a crime had been committed at Hill and Espinal’s home, no evidence could link one parent or the other to the supposed crime.
