The All-MLB Team Project

This project started with a simple question: why doesn’t Major League Baseball, or the Baseball Writers Association of America, or any other entity, recognize a post-season All-Star team in the same fashion that the other three major professional sports leagues do?

I couldn’t come up with a good answer to that, but it led me to a second question: if Major League Baseball did have a post-season All-MLB team, what would it look like? I endeavored to answer that question by examining MVP and Cy Young voting data and attempting to construct All-MLB Teams from the past 19 seasons. The result of that research is presented lovingly to you here: The All-MLB Team Project.
